Title: Flying dragons
Post by: Shortsighted on September 28, 2017, 04:21:47 PM
Looking for birds everywhere I get kind of used to catching flashes of movement in my
peripheral vision. A twitch of a leave, a fleeting blur at the lateral limit of vision where
changes in light and dark rule and visual acuity fails outright. I find myself reacting to
movement at my flank only to see a dragonfly. This happens a lot. Seeing actual birds,
not so much. So here's to those flying dragons that incessantly buzz me.

I think the series consists of Widow Skimmer, 12-Spotted Skimmer, Blue Dasher, Green Darner, Ruby Meadowhawk, Common Whitetail and White-faced Meadowhawk.
I'll let you decide which one is which.

Isn't that a Calico Pennant, too? (The red body one with the saddlebags.)

I'm sure your right. That's why I post the shots, so I can learn something from
people who know things I don't know. There is oh so much I don't know.
I'll look up your suggestion.
Thanks

3. Meadowhawk, either Ruby, Cherry-faced or White-faced
4. Shadow Darner
5. Meadowhawk, either Ruby or Cherry-faced
6. Common Green Darner
