Title: Two from the spring
Post by: takkatakka on November 16, 2017, 04:18:10 PM
Hi,
Looking through some old photos and came across these two, both were taken in late may in Thickson's Woods.
The first one appears to be a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. The second one I believe is a Mourning Warbler. I know these photos are not very clear but any thoughts are appreciated.

  Thanks for all the help.

I concur with both your interpretations.
The Yellow-bellied FC is straightforward enough but the
Mourning Warbler is iffy: Yellow belly, gray breast and
hood, dark eye ... I can't think of anything else.

i see nothing (tail or wing length) to id the flycatcher...looks good either least or yellow-bellied IMO
2nd one does seem to show all the fieldmarks of a Mourning...as far as can be made out from this pic at least
