This cat has been coming around for years. He is one tough customer. He has only one eye and only one ear. He's a survivor. Cuddly he is not.

Gotta be if he's co-existing with the coyotes. As for the one eye and one ear....you oughtta see the other cat.

An update on this cat.
This past summer one of the locals told me he trapped this cat for using his flower bed as a litter box. He told me he drove the cat 25km into the country and released him. I asked how long ago he had done that. He told me about a week prior. Well, I told him that he was back! I suggested that he just leave the cat alone. Defeated, he agreed. I saw the cat just 2 days ago looking healthy and tough as ever. My best guess is he's about 15 years old. The neighbourhood squirrels know he's boss and disappear when he's prowling.

The cat we don't have (she showed up 6 years ago and I've been trying to find her a home ever since) uses the planter built into our front porch as a litter box.....I'd really love to plant Hostas in it but her deposits kill everything....and I end up having to clean the planter out periodically b/c well it gets gross.....if he comes up with another solution let me know.
I did that with a chipmunk once...it became a real nuisance....every time you went on the deck she'd come running for food...she'd nibble at your toes...climb vertically up you....poop and pee in your lap if you were seated outside....so one day I grabbed an empty bottle that had once held cashews....I held it in front of her and she climbed in and I shut the lid (with air holes of course) and then I drove her off to my neighbour's place...it's a fair distance away esp. for an animal the size of a chipmunk...or so you'd think....well it took her two months but she returned.
I think...I'm on team One Eyed Kitty.
