Title: Peregrine Falcon???
Post by: jnish on December 16, 2017, 04:52:06 PM
The closest match that I can find in my field guide is peregrine falcon, but the dark colour appears to extend too far below the head.  Your help with ID is much appreciated!

I'm thinking Harrier and I thank you for getting me thinking.

Thank you!  I just can't get the hang of this!  The two times I thought I had photographed peregrine falcons, they were actually a Merlin and a Northern Harrier.  One time I thought I had photographed a hawk attacking a night heron, and it was actually a peregrine falcon (Aug 23, 2016).  I'm glad you are there to set me straight!
