Title: Downsview Bird Id Challenge

Challenge 1: Red Tailed Hawk. It just finished eating a vole and looked at me sheepishly.

Challenge 2: Snowy Owl as it came on to land in one of the trees by the paved road. It was flying between the slope of the nearby hill and a group of trees on another hill across the street. Had great fun watching it while it lasted.

Challenge 3: Northern Shrike. it has been around the park for a while and seen quite frequently.

Challenge 4: American Pipit. It was a cold and windy November day when I spotted a group of them foraging on the ground.

Challenge 5: Northern Flickr as they were searching for a nesting hole. I think eventually they were evicted by the Starlings.

Challenge 6: Field Sparrow

Challenge 8: Turkey Vulture

Challenge 9: White-throated Sparrow

Great to hear back from you John. Were you in the Philippines? Thanks for the correction about the Swamp Sparrow - I was wondering about that for a while and couldn't make up my mind.
