Title: Grebe at Ashbridges
Post by: Shortsighted on April 10, 2018, 05:24:40 PM
A report was posted on eBird that an Eared grebe was spotted at Ashbridges.
I didn't see one myself, but there were a couple of Breeding Horned grebe and
a non-breeding one as well. The later was the most active, feeding in the bay.
Also hanging around were a few Scaup and Bufflehead, lots of Long-tailed ducks
(in winter plumage) and a couple of female Red-breasted Merganser, plus one
male, and a few Double-crested Cormorant. I heard a Kingfisher but didn't see it.
Other than that just a few Cardinals, Tree sparrows, RWBBs, and Goldfinch.
No further sign of GC Kinglet although I did see a couple of them in March.
