Title: Merlin landing at new nest
Post by: aviator on April 26, 2018, 10:34:14 PM
First off, I didn't know Merlins nested this far south. Apparently they take over existing nests rather than build their own so the layout may be strange and should be approached carefully. This was the only time I viewed either bird make this error. None since!

Coming in too fast. More flap needed

Thanks. I have never seen your owl either. Raptors are a curate's egg( pun intended ) if they set up shop in your neighbourhood as they scare/eat every bird they find. That's a problem at this time of year as the migration starts. It will only get worse as the offspring need feeding. Oh well!
