My husband is attending the May EV society meeting at the north campus. I am thinking of tagging along and go visit the arboretum. Hopefully, there will be a good selection of migrants. Going in the evening. Have not been there since many moons ago I attended.
Any advice, hints etc.
Thanks in advance.
Good birding

The best places for migrating warblers I find are the trees along the river, the bushes bordering the meadow (between the meadow and walkway along the river) and the bushes/trees around the sports fields. Good luck. The paths in the meadow can be soggy.

Thanks for the info Thomas.
I will try to remember to post what I see.

I had a nice walk, weather was great and no bugs. Trails were soggy, wet in places, but was prepared for it. The paved bicycle trail looks nice. There were the usual suspects, blackbirds, cardinals, house wren, catbird, etc.
Highlights were a Swainson's thrush and it was calling, and Blue gray Gnatcatcher. Lots of yellow warblers and redstarts. I find their calls similar, so had a change to retrain the ear. I did find a yellow warbler nest and saw a male oriole gathering material and was able to follow his flight to his new home.
Good birding.

Nice you were able to find some nesting activity.
I was there yesterday morning, had 52 species (15 species of warbler). Best activity was along the river, specially seen across the river between the paved path towards the college and the bridge at the north end.

You had a great morning!!!! Obviously, I was in the wrong spot!!!! I did not get as far as the bridge, I wandered from the sports field eastish and met up with the paved path, then followed it west along the river and side tracked into the woods/meadow, near the bee enclosure, then deviated into the meadow and around the river side of the sports field, then to where the path to the college joins the paved path, then headed back to the college. Still enjoyed my evening. I was back at the EV meeting in time to hear a man from the City of Toronto a presentation/update on getting electric chargers put into place all over the city.
Good birding

I may be tagging along again when my husband goes to his EV Society meeting Wednesday nite to troop around the arboretum.
Thomas, have you been there in the last few days. Just coming off a week at Rondeau, with a day trip to Pelee, so l am good to go, but don’t think I will get a Prothonotary, but you never know. I think anything I get is good. Will report back, but if it is raining, not going. Had enough of wet and cold last week!!!!!
Good birding everyone!!!!

I've had enough of lousy weather for March, April and May - really looking forward to June-August and hopefully some sunny hot Summer weather! This Spring so far has been :(

Yes, Bird Brain, enough already, but as I always say, “We are Canadians, we complain about the weather!!!!”

Unfortunately, meeting has been cancelled, so will not be going.

 So true! I'm trying so hard to stop complaining about the weather but continue this bad habit daily. :|
