The Whimbrel have started their annual passage through Toronto to their northern nesting grounds. Here a trio of three tired birds take a break on the beach at the Leslie Street Spit on Sunday afternoon.

Wow, cool. I saw a flock of 27 Whimbrels flew over Whimbrel Point in Colonel Sam Smith Park this afternoon around 5:45 PM.
