Title: Eastern Screech Owls in ravine in Rosedale
Post by: dodo on May 27, 2018, 10:44:41 PM
I was riding my bike along a ravine trail tonight at 9PM and there were 3 Eastern Screech Owls at the edge of the trail. It was beside Yellow Creek about 50 meters downstream from the Glen Road Bridge.

Orchidpoet,if you want to get a good view of them you probably need a high beam flashlight. When I see them at the edge of the trail I point them out to people passing by but in the fading light they look too small to be owls until I shine a flashlight on them. I locate them at after it is getting dark by listening to the raspy sound they make.Last night I could hear them beside the trail near where yellow creek flows underground into the sewer system.
