Title: Humber river Trail-Raccoon babies
Post by: Ally on June 07, 2018, 07:26:29 PM
They appeared from nowhere, when I looked up, they were in the middle of the road, and started to walk towards me. They encouraged each other and walked all the way between my legs, and sniffed at my rain boots. Realizing I am not their mother, they retreated to the grasses on the side of the trail. It was one of the most touching moments of my life. And I thought I was recording with my phone, turned out I did not hit the button. Kicking myself...

Great surprise and nice photos. A few years ago I was out photographing birds and heard a scream. After looking around a while I cam acrosss a discarded pizza box and what was stuck inside but a tiny racoon. It couldn't get out as the box was on the side of a hill and facing up, each time the little fella tried to climb out he slid back. So of course I helped him out and off he went.

Thank you. It was nice of your to help him. I had to wait there for a bit because someone walked with a unleashed dog, I had to tell her to hold the dog. Luckily the dog took curious sniff and went his way.

Nice shot. Get a sign and rename it the Raccoon Trail.
They seem conjoined at the hip.
Hey, wait a minute, did you take a double exposure?
Your right .... I'll stop it right now and crawl back into
my appliance box.

Adorable and it is amazing to see how well synchronized their walks are. Such an intelligent animal yet I see so many road kills during this time of the year - makes me sad.

Haha, I chose those. I took over 30 photos. And my students said it's like they copy and paste one another.

Right now, it's more like Cedar Waxwing trail. There are so many of them up in a tree, from the bottom, they look like ripe apples.
