Title: Humber river Trail- Northern Flicker's maiden flight

I was trapped home today by the rain, and it's all worth it when I got these shots. The parents had been convincing the chicks to take their first flight, they called on the tree nearby all morning, and occasionally went to feed them, and finally one boy summoned enough courage and took off. Magical!
