Where exactly at CSS were these shorebird hanging out?
Your Yellowlegs may be both Greater and Lesser. The left
one has a smaller bill and seems smaller in stature.
The pale-coloured sandpiper may be a White-rumped.
The bill seems rather large, maybe because it is so close
it is an illusion. Just a hint of lighter tone at the base of
the bill. Nice close shot of a Pectoral sandpiper ... never
been able to get close to one. CSS seems to have something
to see almost every day. I wish it was not so far away from me.

Thanks for your reply. Here is another view of the white-rumped? sandpiper. This bird , the Pectoral and Yellow -legged were in the main pond with the first two almost under the viewing deck so it was a vertical shot and the mud as background. The Dunlin was on the shore east facing the marina.Oddly I thought the Pectoral too small compared to the Pectoral on the previous day (with all the birders in attendance)

A very nice set of shorebirds. I was at the park this afternoon and was so focused in finding the Nelson's Sparrow that I ignored everything else including the shorebirds. However, I managed to see a surprise visitor there - a Snowy Owl.

So, was the waiting at Sam Smith worth it?
Did you find the Nelson's sparrow?
Did the snowy find the Nelson's first?
Was there, perhaps, only a half-Nelson left?
Isn't it annoying when someone asks a lot of questions?
