Title: What could it be?
Post by: Ally on October 26, 2018, 05:12:33 PM
Hi, I heard a bird today flying above me, with due-due-due three part calls, the  bird is about a sharpie's size, kind of slim look, the wings are long and pointy. Any idea? Thanks a million.

Your description of size and shape could fit a number of birds such as small falcons and shorebirds, however the flight call sounds like it could be a Greater Yellowlegs. They are still migrating so there is a good chance this is your bird if the call sounds right to you.

Thank you so much, I found a clip on youtube and confirmed it was indeed a Greater Yellowlegs I saw and heard.  :P  :P
