Title: Mount Pleasant Cemetery Coyotes
Post by: dodo on November 19, 2018, 06:29:02 PM
I was riding my bicycle through the cemetery this afternoon when I saw a coyote running around. I got off my bike and took out my cellphone to take a picture. I followed the coyote on foot but I couldn't get very close. It ran behind the tombstones and joined up with 2 others that were lying in the grass. The 3 of them ran off together. When I last saw them they were on the east side of the cemetery not far from Glen Gould's grave. I have seen deer and foxes in the cemetery but this is the first time I have seen coyotes.

My husband and I live on Moore Avenue and our house overlooks the cemetery.

We saw these 3 on Saturday March 23rd around 930 am .They initially followed the cemetery  wall from west to east , moving about 25 feet out .There were lots of people out and so they swung  north through the gravestones .Given they wouldn't cross Mt.Pleasant and the tunnel under Mt.Pleasant  would involve potential interaction with people , one wonders where they went .

I was surprised by how big they were -size of a small German Shepherd.

Why don't you think they'd cross mount pleasant?

I've watched a pair of coyotes cross bloor st. in bloor west village and I've seen roadkill coyotes on southbound 401 @ Queen and on Derry at Highway 10.....

That sounds like an exciting sighting  :D

I've always wondered how often I've been watched by a coyote while I walked in the woods...
