I had a Red-bellied Woodpecker male today visit my feeder. He was here all day. I had a female on November 12. These are the only Red-bellied Woodpeckers I have ever had in my backyard. Pretty exciting. Also had one lone Pine Siskin and the always over-wintering Cooper's Hawks.

You're fortunate to get some visitors since I've have seen no action at all this December.
I mounted two feeders (niger and millet) and neither has had avian visitors. Squirrels
would jump from a nearby structure and land on the millet feeder, thus tipping it enough
to spill seed on the ground. That trick did eventually attract a few junco, but that is about
the extent of it. I really must install a suet feeder and see what happens. I suspect nothing
will happen. Thanks for posting.

@shortsighted....I think the problem might be in using nyger and millet....I have found that while nyger is expensive, it isn't really eaten by the birds at my feeder....and millet...well that's like filler in bird feed....
Our local co-op has bulk seed and the cheapest seeds in the bin are black oil sunflower seeds...and they are very popular....I use a mix of mostly black oil sunflower, slightly less striped sunflower...a nice little portion of shelled peanuts and a touch of safflower....the cardinals seem to really love the safflower...that's what works for me...oh and I throw out in shell peanuts for the reds
