Title: Snowy Owl Air Battle
Post by: Paul O'Toole on January 04, 2019, 07:02:55 PM
A pair of snowies battled it out to perch on top of a high fir tree nearby. Taken at around 4:40pm, so the evening light is a bit funky on these. The so called Golden Hour of light not the best for these but it was a great experience to watch and photograph this interaction.

Holy rosy glow owlman, dueling Snowy owls!
You won't see that rivalry every day.
Then again, I won't see any Snowy
any time soon.
I just love that rose-coloured lens you have.

Very interesting Paul.  I had not seen a Snowy battle like this.

The sun was very close to setting so the light was a bit funky. Waited in a stationary location for about 2 hours and was just preparing to call it a night when 2 snowies started to fly one after towards a tall fir tree.
