Title: Sleeping Snowy Owl

Shot from a low angle and seldom are they this in the open early during the day but maybe the cement its on is warm? You can see a pellet it coughed up prior to me finding it. Enjoy the winter their is lots to do and photography. This was taken on the mainland side of Kingston but for anyone interested I believe this year to be one of the better years for Snowy Owls on Amherst Island. My friends have photos with 4 owls in the same shot close to each other. When the weather cools down I will make a trip over their to see whats around.

It is always nice to get a closeup of the male Snowy.  I went to Amhert Island yesterday and saw many Snowy Owls.  They seemed to congregate near Stella 40 foot and Second Concession. There were 3 immature Snowy's within a fenced in enclosure that didn't move all morning.  One of their parents was always close by.

I second that. I went to Amherst Island on the 5th and saw about 25+ of them in one area alone - amazing. Then there were Northern Harriers, Rough-legged Hawks, Red-tailed Hawks, a lone Peregrine and an adult Bald Eagle.
