Title: An unusual ID
Post by: cairnstone on January 12, 2019, 08:49:58 PM
This pellet was dropped in Brampton yesterday. 5cm long does anyone want to guess who it belongs to? The only thing I know for certain (because I know the tree well where it was found beneath) it was one of these birds:

Sharp-shinned Hawk
Cooper's Hawk
Long-eared Owl
Great Horned Owl
Northern Saw-whet Owl
Eastern Screech Owl

It is one of the above no question, but which one? I have the pellet but have not broken it open yet.

looks like mostly fur so i don't think its a  sharpie or coopers (they eat mostly other birds)...seems large for one of the smaller owls (but have no idea how large they usually are)
