Title: Is this an eared grebe?

Hi guys,

I need your help to ID this bird, is it an eared grebe?
Sorry for the image quality the bird was very far and it was almost dusk.

This looks like a Horned Grebe that has not yet acquired its breeding livery.
The golden feathers that will create the "horn" can just be discerned in your photo.
That feature will become more prominent.
The ruddy neck is also a feature of the Horned Grebe.
Eared grebe have a thinner, slightly upturned bill and have a slight crown peak
forward of the eye. The Horned grebe also has a white tip on the bill, which
is very clearly visible in your photo.
Where did you see the Horned grebe?
