my kinglets are blur green balls comparing to yours. I think they took the same flight. :D :D

Yes, spring has indeed arrived but not with the dynamics of a spring but
rather with an insidious creep. Fingers of spring feeling its way through a
few neighbourhoods, mostly yours, but avoiding perfectly receptive sites
near me.
First for this year just today include: Eastern Kingbird, Fox Sparrow and
Golden-crowned Kinglet. A male Am. Widgeon and male Hooded Merganser
also briefly visited the Amos pond area but soon realized spring had taken
a detour and they were quickly airbourne again in search of that elusive
season. Even the Kingfisher felt inclined to vamoose. Now, if I knew where
you were I would know where spring has settled.

Beautiful photos as always. Yes the sign of Spring is everywhere albeit a bit slow as Shortsighted noted. I dropped by Downsview Park this afternoon and the place is already filled with songs of Sparrows, Finches, Cardinals, Phoebe, Golden-crowned Kinglets and of course the Grackles and Red-winged Blackbirds. One bonus was the sighting of a Green-winged Teal in the big pond - it was a first me for the park.

A few more Golden-crowned Kinglets made it to the east-end today but I could tell
there was some reluctance in their manner, showing as much disappointment with
the dearth of other migratory birds to celebrate the warm day as I was feeling.
Two kinglets were hanging around together and splitting their activities between
evergreen trees and the leaf litter on the grass. If I sit down one of them might
actually fly toward me and land within a meter of my position. The last time wildlife
showed any interest in sitting with me was a baby Cottontail rabbit that had likely
been abandoned by junkie parents that had discovered mind-altering weed and forgotten
about junior. I spoke of many things, of fools and kings, but junior just wanted to
have company and my spewing nonsense did not spoil the moment. It never works with
people.

Ospreys are back. There are a few nests between work and home.
The pair by the bridge, the one was eating a fish. The mate was a few branches over.
The other nest down the road had one sitting and one standing on the nest.
I saw 2 King fishers today as well. One on a wire by Guelph lake. The other one on a wire by Belwood lake.
Lots of loons gathered on Georgian bay yesterday.
