I do believe this is an American Wigeon, but my buddy ( whose photo this is ) thinks an Eurasian one. Any help would be great.

Your buddies photo shows two male ducks, an American Widgeon and a Northern Pintail.
Be-u-ti-ful plumage, isn't it.
