Title: Humber river Trail- a good catch
Post by: Ally on April 25, 2019, 08:51:44 PM
He got a good size fish, and went inside one of his burrows; He came out in 1 minute,so I think it was either a cellar or it was for his mate. He went back to under the rocks and never came out again the time I was there. No fish for me today.

Imagine going fishing every day and absolutely knowing you will catch a fish.
I used to fish some years ago and I NEVER had that kind of skill. I've seen
mink many times and sometimes they even caught something while I was watching
but never a fish as big as that. I don't think this mink can even believe it. You
can see its excitement in getting it back to its mate to show-off. Then there are
the late-night story embellishments in the den.

Now that was exciting...great pix...have seen mink a number of times but never witnessed a catch....in fact..the last time I saw a mink, I was driving on dirt road when a red squirrel darted directly in front of my vehicle...I slammed on the brakes...squirrel paused for a brief second longer and then darted out of the way just as a mink leaped into my path...yep...I hit it...I saw it lying prone on the road and felt terrible...but marvelled at the squirrel...wondered if that was thought out or coincidence...anyway on my return, I thought I'd stop and look at the dead mink so I pull over....get out with confidence and bend over the mink...I reach out....and it sprang back to life...snarling...I leaped back in my truck...I had a narrow escape...I think it blamed me for helping the squirrel.

Yep....true fact....not one of them alternative ones.

I gotta say...it gave off a stink worse than a skunk when I hit it.
