Title: Male House Finch with bright orange bib, Mississauga
Post by: Bird Brain on April 27, 2019, 10:10:54 AM
Hi everyone.  Yesterday, Friday April 26th at 1:45pm, Elora Drive/Wallenberg Cres., Mississauga ... 43.582552,-79.650182

Adult male House Finch with bright orange bib.  Wow!  This is only the 2nd time in 25 years of birding that I've seen an orange bib as they are usually red.  Apparently to see orange or yellow is rare?

I agree. Orange is uncommon. I see red all the time, even after only five minutes on the road
in traffic. Ah, orange ... the colour of prison.

Should I be calling him a jailbird?

You may be on to something.
Finches have a felonious streak.
Well, they have streaks anyway.
