Title: Frogs and turtles

I found these frogs in TTP on Sunday, risked being attacked by a goose Dad defending his wife and eggs to take the photos. I jumped on a sight of a tiny snake though.
In my quest of the owls, I then came to Colonel Sam Smith, and found these turtles sunning. Did not found any owl :(  :(

Nice captures. I'm surprised those turtles did slide off into the water when they saw your lens.

Great pix...love the descending size of the turtles....impressed with the number.

OK...anyone have an ID on the frogs...I swear at least one of them, if not both, look like a fowler's toad to me...and well....the other one...I dunno....

Both pictures of toad are American Toads.

Do you think they have croak permits?
Are there any Canadian toads and if so are they better looking?

There is a species of toad called the Canadian Toad that looks very similar to the American Toad.  The Canadian Toad lives in a small part of the Northwest Territories and most of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.  The Fowler's Toad lives in a few locations along the Lake Erie shoreline.

Amazing. Thanks for enlightening me. Imagine, we have our own
all-Canadian toads. I would have thought they reside in Ottawa.

Well good thing no one is depending on me for ID....although to be fair...my gut was saying american toad but I always look for the exotic....
