Title: Bat bounces off my head!
Post by: Bird Brain on July 05, 2019, 01:52:09 PM
Hi everyone.  On Canada Day evening, a bat bounced off my head at 10pm!  I was standing on the North side of Rathburn Rd. just East of Elora Dr. and ... boing!     Anyhow, he didn't bite me - have never been bitten by a bat or any wildlife ever which is a good thing as would require rabies shots.  Have only ever been bitten by my aunt's Pomeranian dog!

Some believe, well some believe anything, but the more colourful among us believe
that if a bat hits you it is trying to reinforce an idea, or notion that you have been
contemplating and especially when a deferred decision is contrary to future success.
Trivial notions are excluded. It must be something important, perhaps an epiphany not acted upon that
needs a swift application. Then again, the bat may merely have had a head-cold and as such its echolocation
was on the fritz. It may have zigged, when it should have zagged. Perhaps you are just special.
Go out again and see if the incident is repeated. Maybe it's a warning. A hit-and-run that prepares you
for a more serious version. I hope you don't believe any of this because I don't. I just have
a malignant imagination.

Years ago, attended a bat walk in the evening at Riverwood and Erindale Park, led by Dr. Monika Havelka.  Lots of bats flying in front of everyone's faces!  A couple of women had bats bounce off their heads  - they weren't happy and left the walk.  Sighted hundreds of fireflies as well - truly beautiful to see.

I love bats and find them to be really fascinating creatures - they can fly in my face, bounce off my head or land on me anytime.   :D

They were looking for your belfry! :)

Well, there's a notion. A belfry is mostly empty space and Bird Brain is not very likely
anencephalic because of that defining Aves moniker. Moreover, a belfry often encloses
a bell, a metaphor for a good idea, an epiphany. A revelation that is on the verge of
proclaimation and that's where the bat comes in. The bat, a guided projectile loosed
by the bow of Providence and destined to strike that metaphorical bell to liberate that
great idea for the benefit of all.

Wow, that was a rush. I love those new mushrooms. My mind is alive, ALIVE, I say.

You're very clearly extraordinarily stealthy to be able to escape detection by bat radar....you should do the patriotic thing and contact the Canadian army to see if they can use your skills.
