Title: The Food Chain

A distant photo of an Osprey carrying a big fish (not sure what kind) that had a smaller fish in its mouth. I simply took this photo as to check whether the Osprey that dove in a faraway pond was successful in catching anything, I wasn't aware of the second fish until I put the picture up in my computer screen. Unfortunately this is not a photo with great quality; however I like the content because of its uniqueness. I am sure this is playing out constantly in nature, we aren't always privy to witness it.

Looks like a pickerel. Cool shot, where was it taken?

Thanks for identifying the fish Howieh. The photo was taken on August 29th in Valley Inn, Burlington. The Grindstone creek empties out to Lake Ontario through a few a watering holes where many Ospreys fish during summer months. One day I saw one catching a Longnose Gar. Most often they catch Carp, Catfish and Goldfish.

A tantalizing sequence of captures: A walleye stalked and caught a perch while
so preoccupied that it was unaware of being stalked by an Osprey and then
caught, after which the osprey was stalked and caught by a Dinusaur and then we
all caught a glimpse of a Dinusaur's capture. What-a-rush!

I think you are right Dave, the fish might be a Pike. Ospreys were seen catching Pikes in that location.

Shortsighted, your description of the chain of events is just awesome, love it.
