Title: Humber river Trail- Fight! fight! fight! again
Post by: Ally on September 05, 2019, 08:30:25 PM
It was quite late when these guys decided to have a fight on the tree top. They took turns to occupy the top, and the Sharpie let out a few cries, and the blue jays were surprisingly quiet the whole time.

I don't see Sharpie often, maybe because of the red tailed hawks. But I was amazed to see how it was almost the same size of a blue jay.

After they all gone, I finally put down my camera and turn around to see the Mourning dove staring at me... :D  :D

My friend pointed out that might be a Kestrel vs a blue jay. I didn't get a good look at it, can anyone help and see whether that's the case?

Tail pattern more closely matched a Merlin.

Thanks Ally, but a nice weekend seems to be defined by a weekend when nothing goes wrong.
I must be vigilant as I proceed through the the weekend and always choose the RIGHT path
in order to skirt around calamity.

Despite the clement weather right now, more reminiscent of pleasant days this time of the month many years ago, I seldom have the chance to go out and enjoy it owing to other responsibilities. I have therefore found that I appreciate every nuance of the weather, as if gifted with heightened sensory capability, not that I ever took it for granted. Cool cloudy days are especially delicious and invirgorating even when there are no birds in sight. Looking at things during brief periods without exercising the scrutiny needed to capture bird shots is proving therapeutic.
