Nice, I remember my first encounter with this bird. I was at a bird walk in Point Pelee, I knew almost nothing about birding. So after I saw a red-bellied through my binoculars. I cried out: I saw a bird! My friend and other birders asked: what does it look like? I said, it has red in the back of his head, and it has black and white waves in the back. Everybody knew what I was talking about. That felt magical.

Is it a male, or a female?
Yours is a male.
