Title: Golden Crowned Kinglet
Post by: Ally on April 06, 2020, 08:16:16 AM
Could Kinglet be back? I thought I saw a little dumpling working it's way among branches, I can only see it has yellow wingbars.

And I saw it the second time, It is yellow crowned Kinglet! I grabbed binoculars instead of camera this time

Yes, they are back. I got them finally. So focused above, I neglected to see the deer approaching.

Did you see the GCK on your estate, perhaps in the valley?
Last year I saw them on April 2nd and it was a lot colder.
March was also much colder. I haven't seen one here yet
but that could change. There is a wooded area across the
street so I might see one soon too. I'm not holding my breath
because I can't afford any more brain damage.

They are such so fast, I saw Waxwings catching tiny insects at tree top before, didn't know kinglets do that too. Really dark for photos.

Good choice. How to make it display his crown?  :D
