Patiently waiting for the wife to return from her wintering grounds. Taken today west of Bath Ontario.

Your admirable Osprey shot shows a bird as frustrated-looking and disheveled as me.

Just a guess on my part, they are a little hard to sex unless both the male and female are close when sitting. If flying then it is a little easier to do. Studies do indicate that males generally arrive at nest sites a few days before the females.
