I went out again this afternoon, saw a dragonfly catching something mid air, quite cool. Saw a dragonfly and a fly perched on the same log, and I kept hoping the dragon fly will take the fly. Then saw an ant came, didn't expect that. I thought dragonfly hunts smaller insects, why did it got scared away but an ant?

First frog of the year. And didn't remember seeing any locust before. Quite love these little flowers.
-
Lovely pictures. The flowers look like deadly nightshade. They are quite pretty.

Wow, thanks for letting me know. Glad I didn't pick them.

Right call on the nightshade...
What is that dragonfly called? I have never noticed that type before and I am seeing TONS of them around my place this year.

aka .... Bittersweet Nightshade, fellenwort, poisonberry poisonflower scarlet berry
and probably a few other monikers. The last time I saw it was in late August.

The dragonfly is Common Whitetail, first two of a male and the last one a female.
-
The males have larger black bands on wings?

3rd pic of dragonfly is a.............. 12-spotted Skimmer (Female)
