Skittish is the word for the belted kingfishers. The male took at least half an hour to deliver the catch to the nest hole, changed perches seceral time. And he spent several minutes in the nest. He went in unexpectedly (I guess that was the point), so I only got a blurred entering pic. Got some half decent ones of the mom entering.

The mom is more skittish than the dad. She only half entered, and immediately came out, with the fish still in her mouth. Don't understand. She still had the fish the time I left.

I also saw a fledgling Oriole. I found all of them because of their calls. I'm not sure whether the catbird is a fledgling.

I recall, a few years ago, watching kingfisher delivering small fish (catch) to a lacuna high up on an embankment
next to upper Highland creek (north of Ellesmere Rd, east of Orton Pk).
