Title: Do bees drink
Post by: Ally on July 09, 2020, 08:48:07 PM
I noticed some bees flying on water, don't know what they are up to, drink, swim or laying eggs?

Found some purple flies on a log

Seeing more of them in the trail, quite nice

They wouldn't be laying eggs.  As far as I know, all bee species lay eggs on dry land, usually in burrows with the honeybee being one of the exceptions that builds a hive.

Thank you. I did have one dug burrows in my flower pot. Maybe for a drink then, I saw several doing that.
