I went for a bike ride today starting from taylor creek park and following the don river on the bike paths all the way down to cheey street. Then I turned around and went to go explore the brick works and explored the forests and paths in the area. From the brick works i biked all the way to MTpleasant cemetery. ON the way back I stoped by the forests near fantasy fair and looked around in there as well. After arriving back at taylor creek park I decided to explore the forests on bike trails that run through the forests that are beside the DVP. Well The most interesting thing i saw was a red tailed hawk was carrying a robin or a grackle in its leg getting ready to eat it. But the cool thing was was that there were at least 30 gracles and red winged black birds chasing and harrasing the hawk. I had never seen something like that.
Birds seen: yellow warbler, black-throated blue warbler, Baltimore Oriole, mocking bird, robin, RWBB, Hermit thrush, Hairy and downy wood peckers, northern flicker, grey catbird, song and white throated sparrows, barn and bank swallows, turkey vultures, crows, grackles, red tailed hawk, house finch, American goldfinches, mourning doves, cardinals, belted kingfisher, and a fly catcher. I think thats it
Was hoping to see some wildlife maybe a fox, coyote, or deer but no luck only groundhogs and chipmonks.
