I was walking in the Don Valley north of the Bloor Viaduct at 6:45 PM today. While watching the Monarchs, bees and wasps pollinating the flowers at the edge of a swamp,I saw a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth darting around so I pulled out my cellphone and got a photo.

Wow, I didn't know this creature existed. How amazing!
-
Cool. We've had a couple visiting our milkweed over the years.
-
Cool! They are always fascinating...I will get them on occasion at our lilac topiary....I don't carry a cell phone though so you'll just have to take my word for it. I've seen bigfoot too.

Was he with that floozy again? I feel there's a foot fetish a-foot.
No cell phone either? I'm impressed. Haven't succumb to the mania of hyper
connection. Finding a man who values privacy is encouraging.

This is the only time I have seen one of those moths but I became aware of their existence about 10 years ago when a lady took a photo and video at the beechwood wetland (which is a little further up the Don) and posted on her blog http://beechwoodwetland.blogspot.com/se ... date=false (http://beechwoodwetland.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-07-16T07:33:00-04:00&max-results=20&start=91&by-date=false)
