Well the cat is out of the bag on these Foxes, so I thought I would post an images or two
Mom and Kit sharing a tender moment. Right before she bit mom on the nose and took off!

That is so nice! Why is it called siver fox?
-
Well, when the light is just right AND coming from behind the fox
the efferent ends of the hairs (fur) shines with a silver-like halo.
When silver tarnishes it turns black.
Golden fox sounded too pretentious and was (somehow) inappropriate.
It's a First Nations appellation and was overstated in translation.
Can you tel .... I DON'T REALLY KNOW!

The silver fox is a melanistic form of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes). Silver foxes display a great deal of pelt variation. Some are completely glossy black except for a white colouration on the tip of the tail, giving them a somewhat silverly appearance. Some silver foxes are bluish-grey, and some may have a cinereous colour on the sides.
-
With my cinereous sides above the ears to go with my cinereous beard might I be considered a fox?
Not even with serious cinereous overtones would that notion hold water. Wow, I answered my own
question. I may not even need this forum anymore with the implications of that development. No offense Meghan, but my explanations are more interesting than yours and therefore if we were co-contestants on Stephen Fry's QI I would have gotten more points. So there!
Mind you, you have the photos ... so that's good for 100 points.

Meghan!!! I have no words! You take great pix....there are a few others on this board in your strata....but that pic....HOLY SMOKES....that pic has no peers....you should enter that in a contest like Cottage Life or something...I dunno....WOW WOW WOW....
And please tell me your secret....how do you capture these moments? If I could take a crappy pic of that moment I'd be thrilled...thrilled to see it.
