Hi again,
this should be nice and easy...
Two Jaegers from Van Wagner's Beach Sunday evening. I got onto them when they were right in front of me so I didn't get pictures until they were flying away.
I believe the first is Parasitic Jaeger. It is very warm coloured, has a decent amount of white in the primaries, is relatively bulky and relatively thick winged. Additionally, I included a picture taken from Van Wagner's taken a few weeks ago that was confirmed as a Parasitic by multiple birders there.
As for the second bird, I am leaning towards Long-tailed. In comparison to the first, the bird has narrower wings that seem a bit longer relative to the body than the first bird. It also seems more streamlined and less bulky or heavy chested. Additionally, the bird seems to have a longer, more pointed tail, as well as minimal white in the primaries, as shown in the first and the clear third photo. In the second photo, I believe there is some glare interfering, as also shown on the underwing of the first bird in the second photo of it. Overall, the size and shape in comparison to the first is what is making me think Long-tailed seems like a better fit.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

Second Bird
Compare with the first bird at the same angle - the wing seems thinner in this bird

Glare on this image but it shows the wing shape well, seems thinner to me than the first bird

Good view of the tail shape and actually in focus - also seems less bulky than the first bird and the attached Parasitic picture from before

Any help would be appreciated,

May be you can brighten the one that resembles a Long-tailed Jaeger and see if that makes tail streamers more visible. The first one is definitely Parasitic.

I hope it helps:

The bird wouldn't have tail streamers unless it is an adult dark morph parasitic. Juvenile dark morph Parasitic and Long-tailed would have tail length differences but not streamers. Additionally, Long-tailed adults are only light morph, there are no intermediate or dark morphs.
As I continue to look at the photos, there is a feature that seems to point towards juvenile Parasitic, the brown on the flanks. It might partially be the light, but on a Long-tailed, this should be more distinct patterning between black and white. Also, the bill seems somewhat longer than I would have expected, so I am not really leaning towards either candidate now and I am kind of in the middle.
