I was walking in G. Ross Lord Park today (Finch/Dufferin area). I heard all this racket. Two ravens were attacking a crow. It cries brought in 27 more crows. I didn't know we had that many in the neighbourhood. The ravens were smart and flew off. Also, the crows stirred up a murmuration of 75 starlings.

I had no idea that there were ravens in Toronto....there somewhat of a new thing and uncommon in West Grey....a few pairs...I also had no idea that they was interspecific competition / aggression between them....I just figured they all got along. Cool observation.

I have been seeing Ravens regularly in Toronto since 2014. A few weeks ago I saw four in Downsview Park and yesterday saw a pair. One even chased a gull that had something in its beak.

I think the return of ravens to GTA and to my area is pretty cool....they are symbolic of "wildness" to me....had one being buffeted by the high winds over my house yesterday....braving the snow. Sigh. Yep. Snow. At least it didn't really snow in October (we did get we flakes but no accumulation in October).
