A brown bird that has been entirely drained of brown. I'm calling it a catastrophic brown-out, and I'm sticking to that interpretation.

Be thankful for that. My world is skewed by surrealism. You see a sparrow and I see a sparrow on the rim of a cauldron of scum gumbo.I'll never reveal what I see when I close my eyes.  Today is the last day of February and also the beginning of the end of winter as decreed by my statue of Zeus, which is usually much less declarative on such matters. It is also the end of my thread on absurdity since we shall all be marching to a different tune in … well, in March. I believe that I have diminished the status of this birding forum down to the level of a common gutter snipe; an old-world species associated with a few dubious sightings, much like the incredulous reports of Bigfoot having been spotted leaving her histrionic footprint in a Covid-19 vaccination line. Not a single witness has confirmed the sightings as genuine because Bigfoot was wearing a mask. This disclosure already seems bogus since the National Enquirer has confirmed that Bigfoot is an anti-masker. I strongly suspect she was never there.
I hope you have enjoyed a peak into my imagination and are now ready for the reality of an approaching spring. Of late, I have been paying more attention to the snow, knowing that it will soon be a memory and even with such a static subject I find myself flirting with hysteria. Baby, I still got it!
