I spotted an Owl perched on the perimeter fence of the airfield this evening as I was departing from work at 10:30 pm
Beffort Rd. Just North of the Fire Station. It appeared to be a Short Eared Owl, facing the roadway.
This is the second time I have spotted one along this fence at night. Lots of light reflecting off of the snow makes this possible.
No dash cam today.
Napper :)
BTW, I have not seen the Snowy at 401 & 407 since first week of January. It was there same spot same time on three occasions that week.

I've been hearing a barred owl from the same general area at my place....never heard them here before...it's mostly screech with the odd GHO.

Axeman!
There was an Owl on the same fence just a little bit closer to the Fire Station on Beffort Rd. tonight at the same time as last evening. Again it was facing towards the road.
The lighting was not bright as last night. Very little vehicle traffic at this time of night and usually no airport traffic. We might do some engine testing at night but not in that area.
