Title: Is that stuff sweet?
Post by: Ally on March 06, 2021, 08:27:30 PM
I had quite a few woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches working on the tree trunks. Several juncos singing their spring songs. I don't know, I only hear them sing that tune in Spring.
I say, they have facial expressions.

I can see chickadees eating that stuff, I can never get them when they are in mid air, flapping while eating it. Is it sweet?

I guess it would be sap, definitely sweet. We do make Maple Syrup with it!

I tried it and can confirm it's sweet. ;) ;)
After Chickadee, I saw juncos, Cardinals, both Nuts, even house finches go drink it. They do observe each other. Especially Chickadees.

Any side effects? You know like hives, rashes are sudden motor / cognitive deficits after sampling it?

Well,  I still haven't developed the ability to fly, not a single feather. So I guess those are not from the sap.

Suddenly.....during the pandemic....I see people licking trees everywhere....I mean the people are everywhere licking the trees not people licking the trees everywhere.
