Post by: Napper on March 08, 2021, 11:50:31 AM
Just a few moments ago I heard a bird that sounded similar to this down the street.

total of 6 notes then a pause repeat, Notes were musical and a little faster.
Any Idea's

Are they here so early? And if you have blue jays in the neighbourhood? Hahaha, the jays in my neighbourhood were doing their impressions on RTH the other day.

And that actually reminded my experience of following the call last Autumn, turned out to be a Canary. I remember describing it as cricket calls.

Ok after I got home I found this. I had no idea that a Titmouse could vary it's call in such a way.
I always thought it was a just a very fast "Peta, Peta, Peta". Apparently not. :o

It had to be Tufted Titmouse. It was loud and well hidden in the trees across the street.
I will have to take a closer look next time I am there.
