Walked out on my front porch and caught movement scurrying across the floor..expected a rodent...it was a Tortoiseshell butterfly! No I wasn't stoned. I admit I smoked a lot of pot as a youngster but it's been decades....well at least a few years.....I mean not during Covid at least. I got pix to prove it. That I saw the butterfly -- not to prove that I haven't smoked pot since Covid started.
This is the earliest I have ever seen a butterfly -- lots of snow on the ground but in plus temps....I think we hit 6 C up here today. I'm guessing it had holed up somewhere over the winter....I mean it couldn't have migrated here from Fiji or Mexico or wherever they go...right?
