The female cardinal is busy collecting nesting materials. Robin had a fight with blue jay. The white breasted nuthatch is sleep walking

Some fun bird to watch at the backyard on a rainy day. I have a Cardinal pair who visits the feeder regularly together with house finch, house sparrows and even a male Red-winged Blackbird one day. The juncos are still doing their funny dance routine at the bottom of the feeder.

The young RTH perched there for over an hour. Not sure whether he wants to preen, or hunt. Eventually even the juncos came out to forage again.

What funny dance rountine? Two juncos went under the young RTH's nose. Maybe they know he isn't hunting.
