Title: What is this large insect? Milton

Yesterday I trapped this insect by closing the window and took a few images with my phone.


I was on the deck a little while ago and something similar was flying about. I  grabbed my camera but it had moved on. Thanks in advance

This looks like a yellow jacket, although I am not sure about the specific species.

It's hard to tell the size -- now is the time incipient queens are in search of nest sites...now that said....I wonder how this one compares to a murder hornet...
