Title: Humber River Trail May 24
Post by: Ally on May 24, 2021, 01:22:38 PM
When you are a birder, you get all kinds of ID questions. My friend sent me a Black Billed Cuckoo a week ago, maybe of exhaustion so stopped in the yard; This morning, another friend sent pics of a Barred Owl and a fledgling. Too bad it's in New Market, so far away from me.
Two Buntings were chasing each other, too hard to get pics in the bushes.

That's a male mallard and it is ignoring its parental duty. :)

His mate is with him, also bathing and preening thoroughly. No ducklings are sighted any more, hope that single mother still has all her 12.

With no rain, the water in the stream is down and full of green algea, hope it is still Okay for the birds to drink.

Haha, that was not a baby. He was scratching and yawning.
