Title: Toogood Pond Park June 6 some flowers on June 4

Was busy and too windy to go for walks. Only got some flowers in my trail and a small bunny. The Bleeding Heart and the other purple ones were in a garden.

I took some kids to Toogood Pond for a bird walk, on the hottest day of the year. Birding should start with Children.
Way too hot, and not a lot of sightings. But glad to find them a nesthole with baby downy still in it, and poked its head out to say hi from time to time.

Nice back-lighting on the Bleeding hearts. It is an excellent shot. Commendable of you to have taken kids on a nature walk. I'm not sure they felt the heat as acutely as you did. Captivating capture of the woodpecker ... "neighbourhood watch" and "scram lady" come to mind. Was this early in the morning?

No. Around 11am. It's hard to get the kids (5-9 years old)ready in the morning for a field trip, and I had a good size group.
