I went for the Common Gallinule, and with some help from a family of birders, I found it! Only got a glimpse of the Least Bittern though. The Grebe babies are just so cute!
-
When one parent swallowed the crayfish itself, the kid just couldn't believe his eyes.
-
Even the kids were sunning.

My complaints worked! Today I found 5 Belted kingfishers. The parents did well this year. I wonder whether the kids are all females, since they all have some brown on their chests.

Sorry there are too many photos. Literally. My memory card was full :'(

It's only fitting to find beavers. He was so eager to leave us, only to have his dinner about two meters away from a guy who was fishing there. The beavers were bullies! They would go harass the Red necked Grebe pair that nested nearby.

Terns are fun too
-
Nice variety as usual!
Not sure if you can tell the gender of the juvenile Kingfishers.
