I went for the Common Gallinule, and with some help from a family of birders, I found it! Only got a glimpse of the Least Bittern though. The Grebe babies are just so cute!

My complaints worked! Today I found 5 Belted kingfishers. The parents did well this year. I wonder whether the kids are all females, since they all have some brown on their chests.

It's only fitting to find beavers. He was so eager to leave us, only to have his dinner about two meters away from a guy who was fishing there. The beavers were bullies! They would go harass the Red necked Grebe pair that nested nearby.
