Title: Cedar Waxwing in Toronto.
Post by: Raven11:11 on May 29, 2008, 09:23:25 PM
Hello to all!  This is my 1st post ... & I not overly educated in this field... I have been a nature lover as far back as I can remember and know only the basics about birds, I can name a blue jay, kardinal, dove, etc.. by their vocalizations, and point out the most common of birds. It was probably around late Feb or early March & I noticed several birds (8-10) in the tree in front of my house - I had never seen this bird before ..  beautiful smooth brown color, black on face & vibrant yellow & red ... is this bird common to Toronto?  I have not seen them since.

Welcome,

They're fairly common.  Nice looking birds, though.

Thanks...   I have been quite aware of the birds around my home and when outside in my surroundings wherever I go & that was the 1st & last time I saw them.  Do they frequent certain areas in Toronto?
